All of the following images are from Botany Bay Woods in Surrey on 18th July 2009. This second brood proved difficult to photographed as they would always land low down to the ground though the breezy conditions may have had something to do with it. They were readily picked out from Small and Green-veined Whites on flight by there very small size and week puppet on a string flight action.
Note the smoothly rounded wings lacking the more pointed tips of Small and Green-veined Whites however the most noticeable identification feature is the large white 'spot' on the antenna which is boarded by black on either side. On the other whites the whole tip is white.
