This cracking bird was visited on the first weekend after the news broke and it must be said that it was the worst twitch I've ever been on. The private driveway where the bird could be viewed by only a handful of birders at a time and with some many present there was a lot of pushing and shoving going on and with so many selfish individuals present it was not a pleasant experience. After eventually getting some decent views of the bird we left the site to bird elsewhere for a few hours and let the crowds die off before returning. It was so much more pleasant to have only 30 or so birders happily watching the bird in in the paddox opposite the driveway where everyone could enjoy it. It then returned to driveway to feed after about 40minutes.
