Small Pearl-bordered Fritillary

Home

All of the following images were taken at the Park Corner Heath, East Sussex  on 25th May 2009 where they performed very well though were often difficult to get images of as they were always very active. The colours are not as intensive as they were out in the field which may have been down to the setting used on the camera however they are none the less a cracking butterfly.

This individual is towards the end of the flight period for the adults, photographed at Bentley Woods on 20th June 2009. It's still in reasonable shape compared to some of the very tatty ones in the wood today.
The above and following images are from Park Corner Heath on 5thJune 2010.
