Siberian Stonechat - South Harbour, Fair Isle 18th - 22nd October 2016
The second Siberian Stonechat in three days but this one was far more obliging and far more interesting as it seems to be a Stejnegers Stonechat and possibly a mega, a potential split and a potential lifer. However DNA results have proven the bird to be a Maura and not a stejnegers despite it interesting appearance.
It lingered around the bay in South Harbour due south of Auld Haa and as can be seen it showed very well at times. Cracking bird that I spent a lot of time with; a cross between a Stonechat and a Whinchat.
