Red-throated Pipits, Easter Lother and Shirva Thistles, September-October 2017

Reflecting a little bit of the spring was the discovery of an autumn Red-throated Pipit in the far north of the island at a windswept and bleak Easter Lother. What was initially thought to have been a second different bird  was found a few days later in the Shirva Thistles but extremely close scrutiny of the finder plumage details in the photos take could firstly not find and real differences and secondly a few traits that matched so unfortunately this meant just the one bird and not two.
