The second local Red-backed Shrike this autumn and the first time I've seen two locally in a year. This is clearly different to Bowers bird in being greyer on the head and nape and with colder tones. Another performer but the very poor light again proved to be a challenge.

Red-backed Shrike - West Canvey Marshes RSPB Reserve, September 2013
Revisited the bird on 15th Sepember where it again showed extremely well, down to a few feet, awesome.
