Lava Gull - Larus fuliginosus
On adult birds the black hood, extending well down the neck sides and upper-neck, is clearly sooty black whilst the white eye crescents really stand out. The plumage is fully uniform dark grey with the black primaries creating the bookend appearance. Indeed apart from the white eyelids, limited whitish tips to the tertials the whole bird is dark.
